Quick Tip Tuesday: Cotton, cotton

February 4, 2014 by SewMaris 2 Comments

Have you ever tried stitching with cotton thread on cotton fabric? I love the way it “melds” into the 100% cotton shirting fabric I use for men’s dress shirts, and since the Italian-made Aurofil I use is a finer weight, it also makes lovely buttonholes. Use it the next time you are make a high-quality cotton garment, and let me know what you think.

Happy sewing!

Oh that thread sounds lovely. Where do you purchase it?

There are several local fabric stores in the Seattle area that carry it, and their web site I linked to includes a “stores” locator that might help. Also some online thread stores carry it like THreadArts, Red Rock Threads, etc. It’s great stuff!
