Here you have it – the completed Anna Sui blouse (Vogue OOP 2912) – just in the nick of time for the Sew Expo ASG Banquet dinner tomorrow night!
Here’s the back view – not too exciting but included in the spirit of full-disclosure. My only complaint with my blouse is I really wanted the darling clear pink half-round buttons I found, but decided the discomfort of leaning back against what will feel like little rocks every time I wear the blouse was not worth it. Still grieving the loss of this cute factor a little tho…. 😉
There were some reviews on patternreview.com indicating the facing technique used on this blouse pattern was troublesome. I am happy with my solution – which was hand-sewing the outer edge rather than machine top-stitching. Waaaaay too much bias on a slippery fabric to ever get those little devils to lay smoothly, IMHO. My stitches could be a little more invisible, but I’m pretty sure no one driving past me on Aurora at 65 mph will ever notice. :-)Â
Now to tackle those pockets for the Chanel jacket….happy sewing!
