I am seriously loving my Ziggi jacket. I have not slept in it (yet), but she has already been to a sewing retreat, a fabulous concert, Starbucks for a double-tall-extra-hot-soy-latte, and run an untold number of errands. Hmm, I probably should have signed her up for some kind of frequent-flyer reward miles or something. She definitely likes to travel! And now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit in Seattle, she is going to get even more outings. She is a show-off!
The inside of Ziggi is really cracking me up – she is so happy! ๐
Hey! Who is that little photo-bomber in the corner? I think she likes camera attention too.
The Ziggi Sew-Along has been a total blast, and I hope you have enjoyed it as much I have. Be sure to post pictures of your finished Ziggi to the Flickr group, because there are going to be PRIZES awarded from Style Arc and Fabric.com. You certainly don’t want to miss out on that fun, now do you?
Thank you dear readers, for all of your support, encouragement, wonderful comments, and for coming along in this fun sewing journey. Hey! Let’s do it again soon!
Happy sewing!
Maris
Maris!! This is AMAZING! Absolutely gorgeous jacket- you better hope I never see it in person or I’ll be tempted to grab it and run! Amazing work!
THANKS Ginger! You need to make one – it is such a great jacket to wear. It really is not very hard, except for the front pocket zips. And our sew-along gives you all the tips to make it easy. Do it, lady!!
I have seen this beautiful jacket in person. It really is the most beautiful piece of apparel. Nice work, talented woman!
Thanks Jane! It was so much fun to see you and the girls Saturday night – I am glad we connected. And you got to meet Ziggi!! ๐
Love that second photo!!!!
Hehe! We will do some giggling together when you get to the great PNW!
Really nice version of this jacket. I keep seeing more and more from this pattern. Love your lining!
Thanks much Linda!
I love it! I was tempted to join in your sew-a-long, but didn’t think I had the time. The jacket looks fabulous on you. I love to sew coats and I’m quite jealous, as my go-to spring jacket is a plain, black jacket that I made about 15 or 20 years ago. Time to update!
Thanks so much Jane – I do too! When you decide to order the Ziggi and make one for yourself, all the instructions will be here waiting for you. You’ll love it!
This is so beautiful!! I didn’t have everything put together to sew-along with you but I’ve been reading along and can’t wait to finally make this! She sounds like a busy little lady…but I hope she gets to go on many more adventures ๐
Thanks Carrie! She is bugging me already to go out today. ๐ Hope you get to make her sister soon!
Ahh!!! I love it! I’m trying to attach my sleeves right now. How cool is it that there are prizes?!
These notches are giving me a headache. ๐ is noon too early for a glass of wine? ๐
Thanks Jodi! Good luck with your sleeves – they go in pretty well. Notches trick: line up the underarm and top of shoulder first. Then the others will behave slightly better. If you need to adjust placement a little do it.
And it is NEVER too early for a glass of wine. ๐
OH Maris. You look so happy and fabulous. I recognize that fashion denim fabric and think it a great choice for this jacket. I love that side zip. OH SWOON. Well done. Sleep in it… how fun would it be to be caught cat napping in it? “Hello, I’m a chic biker chick taking a cat nap, drink in hand, snoozing in my hammock… ” ok. sorry, went a bit RANDOM! ๐
Thank you so much Gwen! Aww shucks, you are just too sweet. That cat napping…ohhh it sounds good! Hope to see you again soon!
I love your fabric choices for this jacket. They made it a fun, one of a kind, moto jacket. I am sure it will makes you happy every time you wear it.
Thanks Audrey! It definitely brings a smile to my face. ๐
It is fabulous! The lining really is so fun.
Thanks Laura! I hope your Ziggi is coming along too, and I am anxious to see photos of your fabulous creation.
I finally have all of the supplies, but I have so many things to sew on a deadline right now. With the warmer weather starting already, I won’t be able to wear it till next winter. ๐ I’m hoping to get to it soon, though. I am making progress on the muslin!
Great Laura! All the instructions will be waiting for you when you have the time. Good luck with all your deadlines – I know the feeling! ๐
Oh, Maris! Your Ziggi turned out great! No wonder she is so happy.
Thank you, thank you Annette! She is definitely a party gal. ๐
A very happy lining to match a very happy wearer! Love the leather accents too.
You are the height of fashion in your Ziggi. And, yours is the only one like it in the world!
Thanks DeeDee! Nice to hear from you, and hope all is well in your world. Only more months till ski season! ๐
Thank you for all these amazing instructions… I’m going to make this jacket on the weekend and really appreciate your help!
Thank you so much Lori! I am glad my posts helped, and I can’t wait ot see you finished Ziggi!
