2017 Sew Camps

Medina Kids Doll Clothes Camp

Not sure where to start?

If your student has no experience with a sewing machine, the best camp for her (or him!) is the “burrito-style” pillowcase. This camp assumes zero machine knowledge/experience, and has a fun technique that kids find very intriguing. If your child knows how to thread a sewing machine, and wind a bobbin correctly, then any of the other Level 1 camps are great choices. If your child has completed a few of the Level 1 sessions recently, then they can choose any of the Level 2 camps they find interesting. One note—if there has been a long break since the last time your child sewed anything, a Level 1 “refresher” camp is a great way to re-acquaint them with their sewing machine and brush up on those skills. A new camp for all sewists is “Making Friends with Your Sewing Machine” – a fun way to get more proficient at using your own sewing machine.

Minimum age for young sewists is 8 years old.

Advanced Camps generally require solid sewing experience, so please send me an email (maris@sewmaris.com) if you are not sure whether these classes are a good fit for your child.
